The Sports Editor of a leading news channel Aaj Tak, Vikrant Gupta faced a severe backlash from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fans post their emphatic win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Eden Gardens.
However, batting first, RCB posted 176 runs on the board, in their quota of 20 overs. Brendon McCullum provided a brilliant start with 27-ball 43. AB de Villiers (44) and Mandeep Singh (37) helped Bangalore post a good total on the board.
Moreover, KKR bowlers chipped in with wickets at regular intervals and didn’t let the game go away from their hands.
However, it was Narine’s blistering knock that set a tone for the hosting team. The southpaw struck a 17-ball, fifty as Kolkata got off to a flier.
KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik played a responsible knock along with Nitish Rana and Andrew Russell – to help them cruise to victory.
In such a contrast, Vikrant Gupta took to Twitter to express his opinion on the social media.
In addition, he also questioned whether RCB’s loss is the first upset in this year’s IPL.

However, this didn’t go well with the Kolkata fans, who lashed out at him. The fans also came up with statistics to overpower Vikrant’s comments.
