The yellow brigade Chennai Super Kings won a last-over thriller against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 10 at the Chepauk Stadium – to continue their winning run in the 11^th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament.

It was a quickfire knock of 56 off 22 deliveries by Englishman Sam Billings which helped CK chase down a mammoth target of 203.

Facing the penultimate delivery of the match, Ravindra Jadeja extended his arms to sent the ball deep into the stands.

It was Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu who got CSK off to a flying start. They kept smashing boundaries at will and took Chennai to 75 within the powerplay.

However, Shane Watson was the first man to be dismissed as Tom Curran made the breakthrough. It was some good tight bowling by the duo of Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav which stemmed the run flow of CSK in the middle overs.

When KKR looked in complete control of proceedings it was a blistering knock from Billings which disturbed the Knights. He kept smashing the bowlers and was dismissed when CSK required 19 off nine deliveries.

Eventually, it came down to 17 of the final over with Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja there at the crease.

Vinay Kumar was handed the final over. He bowled a waist height no-ball which was smashed for a six by Dwayne Bravo over the fine-leg region. The ball went sailing over the boundary cushions.

It reduced the equation down to 10 required of the final over. Bravo took a couple of the free hit. Vinay came back strongly and bowled some tight deliveries which included a wide.

With four required off the last two, Ravindra Jadeja who was not looking in good touch smashed a six to finish off the deal for CSK.

Following the completion of the match, people from all quarters started trolling Vinay for his horrific performance with the ball.

Vinay, however, supported himself and took to his twitter handle and wrote,

“Hey guys take it easy, it’s just a game. Where were you all when I defended 9 runs against RCB and 10 runs against Mumbai Indians!! Sometimes things do go wrong so CHILL….”.
