Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper, Virat Kohli, has joined the team’s camp ahead of IPL season.

He landed in the city on Friday (March 30) and joined the camp straightaway, as per a report in Sportstar.

RCB had already kicked off their camp a week back, but the star players were yet to join.

With Kohli landing in the camp, the preparations for the coming season are set to go full swing from today (March 31). The coaching staff comprising of Daniel Vettori, Ashish Nehra and others are also in place and set to kick off mega preparations for IPL.

The team was probably waiting for Kohli to join the camp before starting preparations in full swing.

He became the highest ever player in the history of IPL when RCB retained Kohli for an amount of Rs 17 Crore. He was one of the three players to be retained by the franchise. AB de Villiers was retained by the team for Rs 11 Crore.

The third player to be retained by the franchise was Sarfaraz Khan. He was paid an amount of Rs 1.75 Crore, but an amount of Rs 3 Crore was deducted from RCB’s purse.

Though RCB’s camp will start today, a few of the players will join the camp a few days later.

Likes of Chris Woakes, Quinton de Kock, Colin de Grandhomme, Tim Southee and Moeen Ali are busy due to their international commitments and will have a late arrival.

Royal Challengers Bangalore kick off their IPL campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 8 in an away game.
