Chennai has witnessed a recent upsurge over the Cauvery Water Dispute and Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who play their home matches in Chennai has suffered a lot.
The protesters did a wide range of demonstrations prior to CSK’s first game at the Chepauk Stadium.
Moreover, during Super Kings’ first home game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), some miscreants had thrown shoes on the field.
Meanwhile, on the very next day, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to shift CSK home matches to Pune.
After a lot of discussions and meeting, BCCI took the decision when the state authority failed to assure the smooth running of a match.
The political parties also organised large protests in the state over the staging of the IPL.
In spite of all these, the Yellow Brigade turned out in huge numbers to support their home team. The excitement level has gone to a new high as CSK are coming back to the league after two-year hiatus.
Meanwhile, in the latest video that surfaced on the internet, few protesters were seen thrashing at Saravanan Hari, arguably the biggest fan of CSK.
Not only manhandled him, the protesters threw his belongings away.
Moreover, Hari comes in all of Chennai Super Kings matches, drenched in yellow, wearing a wig. He also carries a huge CSK flag with him.
