The Chennai Super Kings made a comeback to the IPL after being out in the cold for two years.
Harbhajan Singh and the rest were all charged up in the field, and the intensity was there to be seen. The men in yellow, led by MS Dhoni, restricted Mumbai Indians to 165/4 in the season opener.
Veteran spinner Harbhajan couldn’t really trouble the batsmen with his deliveries. He bowled two overs, conceding 14 runs without any success.
But he played a crucial role on the field. Bhajji did well to grab on to a catch offered by Surya Kumar Yadav. It was a vital stage in the game.
Harbhajan Singh roars for Chennai
Yadav looked in-form and scored a 29-ball 43 before getting out to Shane Watson. Bhajji made good use of the opportunity and was seen kicking the ball with his feet in celebration. He roared, delighting the CSK fans and was very much in the game.
Bhajji’s association with MI
Harbhajan represented Mumbai Indians since the very inaugural season. And he didn’t lose much love in the field.
It is not yet known if he had a score to settle with Yadav. But the celebration was pumped up. During the promo-shoots, Bhajji looked in total control of the scene. He mixed well with the group and shared a good rapport with skipper MS Dhoni.

On his ten-year association with Mumbai Indians, Harbhajan said he would share his bit of knowledge to help his side.
“When you have played with a team for a few years you know a few things. Here I have played with MI for ten years. So I know the conditions, the approach of their bowlers, their batsmen. I am asked things, and I give my inputs. And why not? CSK is my team, and I will try to contribute as much as I can.” he told India Today.
