The second game at the iconic Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Hyderabad saw hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad clash against the defending champions Mumbai Indians.
Also, the atmosphere at Hyderabad was fever pitch, as the Orange Army looked to continue their dominance at their fortress.
Even the players of Sunrisers appeared pumped up to put up a show for the crowd. Bangladesh superstar, Shakib Al Hasan looked excessively charged, as he gave a mouthful to MI’s Krunal Pandya on his way back to the dug-out, after dismissing him.
The incident occurred during the 9th over of the MI’s innings which was handed to perhaps the best all rounder in the world presently.
Mumbai Indians‘ Krunal Pandya has grown leaps and bounds in stature in the past two seasons of IPL. The elder Pandya scored a free-flowing 41 against CSK which helped Mumbai post a tough total.
Continuing his form, he hit Shakib for a couple of creamy boundaries, one towards extra cover and the other, reverse swept besides slips.
After scoring 13 runs already off Shakib’s over, Krunal wanted to milk him for a single towards mid-on. However, the ball caught Pandya’s edge and gave a simple catch to captain Kane Williamson, who doesn’t drop any.
Following the dismissal, Shakib expressed his joy and frustration after going for 13 in the over. His sendoff might have contained few expletives in the Hindi language.
