Over the last ten seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL), one of the recognized trends in the tournament is players affinity for special performances in a specific franchise. This pattern is also applicable for Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) Yuzvendra Chahal, who represented the Mumbai Indians earlier but felt at home while playing for RCB.
The likes of Dwayne Bravo and Dwayne Smith represented the Mumbai Indians during the first few editions of the tournament. But Windies found their mojo while representing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
So much so that Chahal now is an indispensable member of the Indian cricket team when it comes to white-ball cricket.
In the game against Rajasthan Royals, the wily customer Chahal added yet another feather to his cap as he became the bowler with the most number of wickets representing the Royal Challengers.
His victim was none other than the multimillion dollar man from the IPL auctions, Ben Stokes. Chahal now has 73 wickets in his IPL career while donning RCB’s jersey. Yuzvendra Chahal needed just 57 innings for RCB to achieve this glorious feat
Yuzvendra Chahal surpassed KKR’s R Vinay Kumar’s tally of 72 wickets for the Bengaluru based franchise.
The other names following in the list are legends like Zaheer Khan and Anil Kumble, who have scalped 49 and 45 wickets respectively.
Recently retired Sreenath Aravind is placed fourth in the esteemed list of players with the same number of wickets as Zaheer Khan is placed third.
