IPL 2019: Chennai Super Kings Innings

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a fine maiden over and breathed down the neck of Shane Watson. Khaleel Ahmed followed it with another good over as he conceded only two runs. Thus, the SRH bowlers were able to build the pressure on CSK.

This prompted Faf du Plessis to go for a risky single but Deepak Hooda was able to hit the bullseye from mid-off. It was touch and go decision but the third umpire ruled the decision in favour of the fielding side.

Meanwhile, Shane Watson and Suresh Raina were able to get a move on. Raina played a fine straight drive to show glimpses of returning back to form. In fact, the southpaw was able to get four fours and one six in Sandeep Sharma’s first over. Thus, the left-hander was able to hit the ground running. Watson, who had struggled to get going in the initial phase was able to score with more freedom.

After only scoring two runs in the first two overs, CSK was able to get 47 runs in the remaining four overs to finish their powerplay overs with 49-1.

However, Jonny Bairstow could hold on to a difficult chance when Sandeep Sharma was able to produce the outside edge of Shane Watson’s bat. Watson was on 34 runs at that stage.

Bairstow had another chance when Rashid Khan was able to beat Suresh Raina all hands down. The English keeper wasn’t letting this opportunity go and got rid of the bails in a flash.

Watson got back into form as he completed his first fifty of IPL 2019 in 35 balls with a massive six of 90 meters against Sandeep Sharma. Watson went on a carnage as he smashed a fine knock of 96 runs from 53 balls.

IPL 2019: Sunrisers Hyderabad innings:

Sunrisers Hyderabad was able to post 175 runs after Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first. The tourists didn’t get off to a good start as they lost their in-form batsman Jonny Bairstow early. Bairstow went for the cut which was too close to his body and got a faint edge to MS Dhoni.

However, David Warner and Manish Pandey, who got back into the playing XI, were able to able to add a fine alliance of 115 runs. Pandey was able to hit the ground running as he completed his 13th IPL fifty off just 25 balls.

The right-hander scored seven fours and three sixes in his undefeated knock of 49-ball 83. On the other hand, David Warner continued his sublime form going as he smashed his 43rd IPL fifty.
