IPL 2019: David Warner’s Heroic Knock Pushes SRH To 181, Twitter Reacts
Mar 24, 2019 at 5:48 PM
It has been a brilliant first inning for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2nd match of the tournament. David Warner announced his comeback in a style by smashing a scintillating knock for Hyderabad at Eden Gardens. His brilliant knock helped Sunrisers Hyderabad to put a massive total on the board.
Initially, it was Kolkata Knight Riders, who won the toss and chose to bowl first. However, it turned out to be a poor call for KKR, as the bowlers haven’t got any success for quite a period of time. Both David Warner and Jonny Bairstow started things pretty much in a flash mode for the team.

David Warner, in particular, was in full flow, who smashed KKR bowlers to all corners of the park. Meanwhile, Jonny Bairstow was smart enough in rotating strike to Warner, who went hard against KKR.
The opening duo added a 118-run partnership for the first wicket before Piyush Chawla knocking out Jonny Bairstow. SRH sent Vijay Shankar in order to get some quick runs by making the full use of the platform set by the openers.
Just when Warner looked well set to get a century, Andre Russell sent Warner back to the hut. David Warner smashed 85 runs off 53 balls by numbering 9 boundaries and 3 sixes.
Despite the initial burst, Kolkata Knight Riders managed to take things in control after the wicket of David Warner. However, the late blitz from Vijay Shankar pushed Sunrisers Hyderabad to a good total on the board.
For Kolkata Knight Riders, Andre Russell was the pick of the bowlers. He picked 2 wickets while Piyush Chawla bagged 1 wicket. In the end, all they managed was 181 runs on the board.
Here are a few tweets:
Comebacks are not at all easy. After a major surgery, the difficult part is to conquer the inner demons. It's all in the mind. Only an individual like @davidwarner31☝🏾 n some can overcome their fears………..

Ipl is funny sometimes.
There was time when Russell and Yusuf were finishing matches for #KKR and now Russell is bowling against the later and knocking him over.#KKRvSRH— Arddhendu 𓃵 (@hota_ard) March 24, 2019

Dinesh Karthik dropped David Warner twice. Took a horrible review. Nothing going KKR's way. #KKRvSRH

Team SRH should feel bad after this innings. The kind of situation Warner and Bairstow leaved for others, 200 would be the minimum score but now even 180 looking tough. #KKRvSRH
