IPL 2019: Dinesh Karthik Don’t Want Any ”Bickering” Or ”Back-Biting” In The Dressing Room
There has always been good and bad in a team. The group that comes over the internal politics will always come good when it matters the most., Meanwhile, the skipper of the Kolkata Knight Riders Dinesh Karthik also wants the same, as he asks his players to keep bickering and back-biting away from the dressing room.
Perhaps, Dinesh Karthik is highlighting the statement of Andre Russell. We recently came across Andre Russell expressing his disappointment for the bowlers, who are pretty inconsistent in the tournament. The all-rounder also spoke on the flexibility of the team, which is a must in the batting lineup.
I am very aware of that – Dinesh Karthik
Russell wants to bat at number 4 for Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing tournament. But, surprisingly, they were sending him at number 7 where he could get only a few deliveries to whack it out. However, in the last game, against Mumbai, Andre Russell was sent up the order, who returned the favour with a brilliant knock.
Meanwhile, speaking in the post-match conference, the skipper of KKR Dinesh Karthik quoted that there will be a lot of back-biting during the current situation, especially, after how the things have panned out for KKR. He wants to eradicate them and focus on the remaining games for KKR.
Karthik also feels that they need to make sure that every player is in a good space, as the tournament is such a competitive one. The skipper is aware of everything in the dressing room and doesn’t want to happen anything negative in the dressing room.
“It’s a high-pressure sport, a high octane tournament and you’ve got to make sure everybody’s in a great space, give them the best chance to do well and stay healthy. A lot of bickering and back-biting can go on in these sorts of situations. And also, I’m very aware of it and make sure nothing like that happens,” Karthik said.
Well, it would be interesting to see how this statement would be received by the Kolkata Knight Riders’ players and the support staff. Currently, they are placed fifth in the points table with 10 points in their kitty. They need to win the remaining games and hope the other scenarios go on their way.
