For IPL lovers, this Wednesday is going to be one epic day. The all-time favourites Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will be going head-on at Wankhede Stadium. So far CSK has been on the winning side of the field while MI will have to strike hard to mark their second win against the table toppers. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings talisman all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is on the cusp of another milestone.
The match is important equally for both the teams as well as the players themselves. The phenomenal all-rounder of CSK, Dwayne Bravo is going to be the first player to reach 100 IPL wickets for the team. He is one wicket away from reaching the personal landmark.
Bravo has been a match-winner for CSK.
Last season, Bravo scored 141 runs around the field and picking 14 wickets throughout the season. The champion has played a preeminent role whenever Dhoni has counted upon him. In the last match against Rajasthan Royals, Dwayne knocked off the important wicket of Ben Stokes who had scored 46 off just 26 balls. And with MI, Bravo will thrive bring his best performances. With 27 wickets, he tops the record of taking most wickets against Mumbai Indians.
Bravo is a force to be reckoned with, he has been a whopping star player for the teams he has played for in the IPL folklore. So far, he has bagged a total of 142 wickets and has scored 1434 runs in 125 matches. With 99 wickets, Bravo is ahead of Ravichandran Ashwin who flayed 90 wickets for the leading team of the season.
CSK has been the team of the tournament so far. With all three matches on their scoreboard, they don’t have much to worry about the match. Still, they haven’t given their best performance in the opening matches as of yet.
CSK head coach Stephen Flemming told in the pre-match conference, “It has been a good start. I won’t say dominating performances but just good, hard-fought wins…”. Further, he added to his statement, “By no means are we anywhere near where we want to be but we are just again winning some key moments with some experienced players standing up, which is a good sign.”
Apart from Bravo, Raina will also be the eye catcher of the match who still hasn’t made his fans jump off of their seats. Tonight could be the night when IPL might witness one of the best matches of the season so far.
