IPL 2019 Final: MI vs CSK – Chennai Super Kings’ Predicted Playing XI

It’s going to be the fourth final between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Isn’t it quite fascinating, to say the least? Maybe, no, or maybe, yes. But, again, the fact of the Twenty20 cricket has brought a lot into the cricket; drama, glamour and money. Consequently, we haven’t seen MS Dhoni making many changes to the side. Chennai Super Kings’ predicted playing XI for the IPL 2019 final would be an exciting chapter to look at.

Both the teams have had met on three occasions in the finale in which Mumbai has clinched two wins, whereas, CSK has won a solitary final against Rohit Sharma-led side.

So, IPL 2019 is expected to be an epic battle.

Here’s the Chennai Super Kings’ predicted playing XI for the final:

Following an 81-run partnership alongside Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis will be brimming with confidence to bat in the much-awaited finale. In the virtual knockout against Capitals, du Plessis struck a fine half-century off 39 balls with the help of seven fours and a solitary six.

Thus, he is the man to lead while aiming for CSK’s glory.

Shane Watson:

Shane Watson, who often struggled in the ongoing season made a stunning return with a quickfire fifty off 32 deliveries. Following his 96-run knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Watson couldn’t do much, but he stood tall in a crucial game against high-flying capitals in Vizag on May 10.

The centurion in the finale of the previous edition, Watson would be itching to have yet another go.

Suresh Raina:

Suresh Raina‘s spot is a defining position for CSK’s batting order. He would be a crucial factor even after failing to convert his start in the previous game.

While looking at his shots, he has to take the onus on himself to be the driving force for the CSK.

Ambati Rayudu:

Ambati Rayudu had a torrid season. However, in the previous game run-a-ball 20 has given his confidence in the crucial tie.

Rayudu is capable of hitting the big shots, and he would be backing himself to score as much as possible in the middle overs.

MS Dhoni:

MS Dhoni, who has a better batting average in the entire season couldn’t do much in the previous game when he scored run-a-ball nine. Dhoni himself has bailed out his team in the crucial junctures.

Thus, looking at his ability to score runs in crucial junctures is all that CSK want from him.

Dwayne Bravo:

Owing to his cunning accuracy, Dwayne Bravo is known for blowing the opponents. The three-dimensional player didn’t have much to do with the bat in the eliminator. But he has paid rich dividends by bowling superbly.

Bravo conceded just 19 runs in his quota of fours overs in a bid to pick two scalps.

Ravindra Jadeja:

Ravindra Jadeja has been the vital cog in CSK’s wheel. He has defied the physics in the field. In the previous contest, Jadeja has bagged two wickets in three overs.

Thus, looking at Hyderabad wicket, Jadeja’s golden arm has a role to play for the Chennai in the IPL 2019 finale.

Shardul Thakur:

To be precise, Shardul Thakur has improved leaps and bound, but he managed to bowl a solitary over against Capitals in which he gave away 13 runs.

However, having a lot to offer, Shardul with his handful of tricks could give a tough time to Mumbai’s batters.

Deepak Chahar:

Deepak Chahar has been outstanding with the ball. He has bagged prized scalps of Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant in the previous fixture.

Chahar has bowled quick well in crunch situations of the game. Thus, his four overs will be interesting to watch out for

Harbhajan Singh:

Harbhajan Singh has a dream start to the season. Despite missing out games in between, Harbhajan kept on delivering for the CSK in the IPL 2019.

With two wickets in the recent win, Harbhajan would be eager to face his old team Indians.

Imran Tahir:

The Proteas leg-spinner Imran Tahir has been protagonist with the ball for CSK. The leading wicket-taker for the Chennai-based franchise.

Tahir is a wicket away to match the magical numbers of his South African teammate Kagiso Rabada. The speedster managed to bag 25 wickets in just 12 matches, whereas, Tahir has claimed 24 wickets in 16 matches.
