Chennai Super Kings is the most consistent side in the folklore of the Indian Premier League. The Men in Yellow has not only won three IPL titles but also they have gone on to qualify for the playoff stages on every occasion. India’s veteran and Chennai Super Kings spinner Harbhajan Singh has revealed the reason behind the success of the franchise.
Harbhajan has insisted that the continuity of regular players is one of the main reasons behind the success of the team. In fact, MS Dhoni is not a captain who likes to chop and change his playing XI a lot. Dhoni is known to back his players and he makes most of the available resources. Thus, he gets the best out of the players.
Harbhajan Singh has all the experience under his belt.
Furthermore, the defending champions have backed the same lot of players in the team. They have always retained the players who have performed well for them and there is an assurance for every player in the CSK camp.
Harbhajan Singh said as quoted by the franchise website, “CSK have always retained the group and the continuity has played the major factor in the team’s success apart from the fact that they have always had incredible players”.
Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh had been a part of the Mumbai Indians for a decade. Subsequently, last year he was bought by Chennai franchise.
However, the Turbanator didn’t have the best of the previous season as he scalped seven wickets in the 13 matches he played. But the off-spinner has all the experience under his belt to turn things around in the coming season.
Harbhajan Singh added, “It’s calm and composed and if we play the same brand of cricket, we will do well. The team has got enough match winners”.
On the other hand, MS Dhoni had once led with aplomb in the previous season. Thus, CSK had made a roaring comeback after a two-year hiatus. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings will begin their IPL campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 23rd March at their home ground of Chepauk Stadium.
