Mumbai Indians (MI) Hardik Pandya played a late cameo of 32 runs off just 14 deliveries which in the end made the difference between the two sides in match seven of the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Following their victory, Krunal Pandya hailed his brother saying that he is striking the ball very well and hopefully can perform consistently for the Mumbai franchise.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah was outstanding in the death over which brought Mumbai Indians back in the game. He returned with figures of three for 20 in his quota to give Lasith Malinga 17 runs in the last over to bowl at. Malinga, who was a bit expensive upfront bowled an outstanding last over to help Mumbai win the match by six runs. Krunal Pandya while speaking about the game, admitted that they were in contention throughout the tie. He also praised Bumrah for his excellent bowling saying that he has performed consistently for the Indian team and Mumbai Indians.
“It was a great game. We were in-out throughout the second innings. The way Bum(rah) bowled, he is a legend, The way he’s giving consistent performances whether he is playing for India or Mumbai Indians; he is outstanding,” Krunal said.
Hardik in good touch
Hardik Pandya has found himself in the middle of a controversy which has kept him out of action for a long time. Besides, his lower back injury has also hurt him badly. However, the mighty all-rounder has returned to the field and is striking the ball well. Krunal Pandya showered high praise for him saying that currently, he is in the right frame on mind. Also, the senior brother is hopeful that Hardik will score runs consistently for Mumbai Indians ahead of the World Cup.
“Whatever I have seen of Hardik this year, he’s striking the ball very well. For me, it was excepted, what he did. He’s in a good mind space. I’m pretty sure he’ll be delivering for MI consistently,” Krunal added.
