Delhi Capitals (DC) wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant entertained one and all present at the Wankhede Stadium with his quality hitting against Mumbai Indians during match four of the 2019 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL). His knock of 78 runs propelled the Capitals to post 213 runs at the halfway stage. Pant’s Delhi teammate Colin Ingram, who also played a significant part in the game, shared high praise on the young cricketer.

Pant is an exciting talent

Rishabh Pant smacked everything that came his way and cleared the ropes with ease. He didn’t spare any of the Mumbai Indians bowlers not even Jasprit Bumrah. His knock included seven fours and seven sixes which was a treat to watch. Meanwhile, Pant is aiming for a World Cup berth starting from May 30 at England and Wales. Pant admitted that he would look use IPL 2019 as a platform to strengthen his case and the start has been pitch perfect. Following his knock, Colin Ingram praised Rishabh Pant saying he is an exciting talent.

The South African also added Pant batted like last year. Incidentally, the southpaw finished as the second highest run-scorer in the tournament after Kane Williamson. He picked up exactly where he left to launch a carnage and set the IPL stage on fire.

“I think he (Pant) played like the last season. I was watching it from home last year. He’s a hell of a talent, just the way he practices – it’s awesome to watch,” Ingram said.

Previously, Colin Ingram shared a crucial stand with Shikhar Dhawan to bail their side out of danger. They added 82 runs for the third wicket to set the tone for Rishabh Pant to capitalise. Speaking on his own game, the Proteas cricketer noted that he has worked hard to coming here in the shortest format of the game. Colin Ingram departed after scoring 47 runs from 32 deliveries to set the platform.

It (t20 cricket) is something I’ve had to work hard on. In the UK I’ve batted at number 3 and here it’s 4 or 5. I think we lost a couple of early wickets but then there was a good partnership,” he concluded.
