A young Sandeep Sharma started his Indian Premier League career by donning Kings XI Punjab Jersey. He was the wrecker-in-chief for the team with his brilliant display of swing bowling. He troubled the world-class batsmen with his swing and pace.

But, in a mix of auctions, Kings XI Punjab failed to bag his services while Sunrisers Hyderabad is pretty determined in grabbing him. He paid the faith of SRH with his blistering spells in the last year edition of IPL and also carrying the same form in the ongoing year.

I like to attack with the ball – Sandeep Sharma

This time, he has been assigned to do the job in death overs of the game as well. Speaking of the same, Sandeep Sharma quoted that he is enjoying the new role and got the license from the management to go for the wickets.

“I like to attack with new ball but this season the team gave me a different role, of bowling not only in the powerplays but also at the death. Bhuvi (Bhuneshwar Kumar) and Sid (Siddharth Kaul) have taught me their knuckle balls. Bowling in the final overs is challenging but I enjoy it, for I have the mandate to go for wickets.”

On middle-order collapse:

Further, he went on to speak on the middle-order batting, which is yet to be tested. Sandeep Sharma backed his middle-order by saying that openers Jonny and David Warner played brilliantly in the tournament so far, which left no chance for the middle-order batsmen to have some game time.

”Our openers are batting so well that the middle order has not been tested. Even in this game, Warner carried his bat through the innings). Our middle order has collapsed in just one game,” he added.

Well, as Sandeep Sharma said, Sunrisers Hyderabad got the pretty decent squad in their lineup. Currently, they are placed fourth in the points table with three wins in the six games they have played so far.

In the next assignment, they will head back to the home to take on Delhi Capitals on Sunday night. In the previous encounter against Delhi, Hyderabad sealed a comfortable victory.
