The evolution of South Africa speedster Kagiso Rabada has been simply sensational. In just a couple of years, he has gone on to be the spearhead of every bowling attack he has been part of. Current an undisputed leader of the Delhi Capitals pace attack, Kagiso Rabada has been a terror for opposition batters.

During an interview with the Times of India, Kagiso Rabada revealed the sort hardships his parents had to go through to make sure that their son becomes a cricketer. Kagiso Rabada hails from a well-educated family with father Mpho being a doctor while his mother Florence is working is asset management.

Kagiso Rabada further revealed that he considers himself lucky that unlike other Black Africans, he got the opportunities to excel as a cricketer during his age group level cricket. Rabada stated that his parents as Black Africans had to undergo several struggles while they tried to settle their lives to ensure that Junior Rabada gets everything.

“Yes, support plays a big role. I have been blessed in some sense to get opportunities and be able to thrive in my talent. So I feel fortunate because a lot of kids don’t get that kind of support. I am glad for everything my parents have done for me because in the apartheid era, they did not have it easy at all,” he said.

Rabada, in order to make a difference to the society, has made a foundation to help the underprivileged children in their growing up years.

“Now I have the opportunity to give back and help the less fortunate through my foundation, it’s coming along nicely. It’s based around cricket but also branches into other sports and education in the future.”

.Coming back to cricket, Kagiso Rabada bowled a sensational Yorker to Andre Russell during the super over against the Kolkata Knight Riders which many consider the ball of the tournament so far. Kagiso Rabada stated that he hasn’t looked up to anybody to bowl Yorkers.

“I didn’t look up to anybody on bowling yorkers when I was just growing up. I just learnt it along the way. It’s not like I got inspired. I just thought it was a good ball to bowl.”
