IPL 2019: I Only Abused Trent Boult a Bit After Dropped Catch – Amit Mishra
Delhi Capitals veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra was not at all impressed by the effort of Trent Boult when he was on a hat-trick. The ball had ballooned and it should have been a simple catch for the Kiwi fast bowler. However, the left-handed pacer failed to judge the catch and in the end, he had to reach out to the ball with a dive.
Meanwhile, Amit Mishra stated in the post-match presentation that he was disappointed on missing on the hat-trick and only abused Trent Boult after the drop as there was no need for a dive.
Mishra Ji wasn’t happy.
Amit Mishra was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts as the veteran leg-spinner scalped three wickets and gave away only 17 runs in his four overs quota against Rajasthan Royals. Thus, the experienced leg-spinner was awarded the Man of the Match award.
Amit Mishra said in the post-match presentation, “I don’t know about the love affair between the IPL and me but I was disappointed about missing out on the hat-trick. Actually, I only abused Boult a bit after that and told him he need not have jumped because it was a pretty simple catch (laughs). I always try to bowl my stock ball more, because that is important to build pressure.
In fact, I didn’t get a lot of wickets this season because batsmen are trying to play me out. Actually, I haven’t spoken to the groundsmen, but we would like to play on better wickets. But it’s probably because of the weather that we have pitches like these. Before going, I would like to thank the crowd – thanks so much for coming and keep supporting us”.
Delhi Capitals comes up with another stellar show.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals have 18 points under their belt and they are currently at the second position in the points table. Capitals have come up with a collective performance and they were once right on the money in the bowling innings.
Amit Mishra has all the experience under his belt and it was on display against Rajasthan Royals. The leg-spinner bowled in the right areas and took the wickets of Shreyas Gopal, Krishnappa Gowtham and Stuart Binny. Consequently, the experienced spinner will like to carry the same form going in the playoff stages.
