Well, it has been a brilliant day for the game of cricket at Wankhede Stadium. Both the sides Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians showed their class to entertain the crowd. However, in the end, it was Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai, who outsmarted Manish Pandey‘s stunning knock.
Earlier, Surya Kumar Yadav and Quinton de Kock gave a much-needed boost in the middle-overs to make things fall in place. They both went after SRH bowlers to gain momentum in the middle overs. It was followed by a decent finish, which saw them post 161 runs.
In reply to the chase, Saha and Guptill started things in a fine fashion for the team. However, Manish Pandey showed his class yet again for the team. The final six saw SRH levelling the scores to take the game into super over.

The super-over saw Manish Pandey losing his wicket on the first ball when he tried for the second run. However, it was Nabi, who smashed a six to give something for SRH to defend.
We worked really hard – Rohit Sharma
Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma quoted that the team has worked a lot right from the start to stay in the playoff race. Further, he went on to speak on the reason behind choosing to bat first.

”Feels good knowing that we are amongst the top four now. Not easy to come through the ranks and we have played some consistent cricket throughout and we have the results for it. We wanted to put runs on the board, the pitch played good for all 40 overs and runs on the board is crucial and I knew that we didn’t get the score we wanted but we knew if we get early wickets.”
Manish Pandey played brilliant cricketing shots:
Rohit Sharma also showered words of praise on Manish Pandey for his cricketing strokes. He also lauded the spin attack in the middle overs, which changed the complexion of the game.

”Manish batted really well and he played some excellent shots but I think the game-changing moment was the eight overs of spin. They bowled very well and contained the batsmen which were very important at that stage,” he added.
On Quinton de Kock and Jasprit Bumrah:
The skipper of Mumbai also lauded Jasprit Bumrah for his class in the death overs and in the super over. He ended up thanking Quinton de Kock for his knock on the wicket, which was really tough to bat on.
”He’s (Bumrah) been brilliant for us and he keeps improving every game and he is hungry for success and he wants to out there and express himself and he understands that he is a lead bowler for us. He held the nerve in the crucial overs and in the super over as well.”

”Quinny has been good but we need help from the other batters. The confidence is there and we need to understand what’s the par score at a venue and I thought we did 70-80 per cent of the basics right in the batting, only a few games we let our batting collapse a little bit but we are hoping to get better.”
All in all, it has been a brilliant victory for Mumbai Indians at Wankhede. Now, they are through to the playoff stage and got the chance to take the second place if their win against KKR and DC lose their last game.
