It was a pure class from Jos Buttler at Wankhede Stadium to make things fall in place for Rajasthan Royals. His incredible knock once again saw his side bagging those two crucial points against his ex-franchise Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Quinton de Kock’s knock went in vain.
Initially, it was Ajinkya Rahane, who won the toss, elected to bowl first. Despite losing the toss, Mumbai Indians’ batsmen responded well by knocking the fence more often than not. Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock started things in style for Mumbai Indias.
They both never allowed Rajasthan new bowlers to get their line and length right with the new ball. However, after adding 96 runs for the first wicket, Jofra Archer dismissed Rohit Sharma to get back things in control. He was quickly followed by the wicket of Surya Kumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard.

Jos Buttler smashed 89 off 43 balls:
Quinton de Kock, who scored a brilliant 81 also returned to the dugout, which kept the onus on Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan. As expected, Hardik Pandya once again gave a solid finish for the team with his 28-run cameo.
In reply to Mumbai 187, Rajasthan got a blistering opening partnership with Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler dominating things in the middle. They both added 62 runs for the first wicket in the 6.2 overs with Rahane being the wrecker-in-chief.

Despite losing the wicket, Jos Buttler always kept Rajasthan in the zone with his brilliant striking of the ball. In the middle overs of the game, he smashed 28 runs of Alzarri Joseph, which completely changed things for Mumbai.
Just when things looked normal, the spell from Krunal Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah completely changed the scheme of things. It all dragged down to 6 balls for 6 runs and two new batsmen at the crease. However, Shreyas Gopal finished things for his side.

Mumbai on the ropes. It’s been an outrageously brilliant chase yet by Rajasthan. Is there a better batsman than Butler in white ball cricket?

Bit lucky at the start but thereafter, as good as I have seen Ajinkya Rahane bat.
