IPL 2019, Match 12: Kings XI Punjab vs Delhi Capitals- DC Predicted Playing XI

After being involved in a humdinger against the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Delhi Capitals will be eager to register their 3rd win of the tournament when they meet the Kings XI Punjab in the 12th match of the tournament tomorrow. It was a spirited performance by Delhi Capitals to chase down a stiff target of 186 runs set by the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Prithvi Shaw played a terrific knock and was dismissed just one short of a well deserved century. The franchise will be high on confidence after clinching the Super over after Kagiso Rabad bowled a terrific over.

Now with the 12th match of the tournament to be played in 24 hours time let us have a look at the Predicted Playing XI of Delhi Capitals.

Prithvi Shaw

The teenager played a sensational knock yesterday and fell just short of a century. He looked in superb touch and found the gaps on a consistent basis. Prithvi Shaw looks a special talent and he will definitely look to continue his good run in tomorrow’s clash against Punjab. He is a special talent but he should look to be consistent all through the tournament.

Shikhar Dhawan

The southpaw is a terrific limited-overs batsman and his skill sets are quite amazing for a top-order batsman as far as limited overs cricket is concerned. He looked in good touch during both the matches he played in the tournament so far. The southpaw will look to get Delhi off to a good start tomorrow.

Shreyas Iyer

The skipper is one of the most important batsmen for Delhi Capitals in the middle order. He has the ability to play the waiting game to perfection and can also play the big shots to perfection. Shreyas Iyer has led his team well till now and will look to continue much of the same tomorrow.

The South African left-handed batsman has looked in good touch in the tournament so far and has become a vital cog for them in the middle order. The southpaw was troubled by Kuldeep Yadav. However, he is an exceptional batsman and will look to make a difference for Delhi tomorrow.

Rishabh Pant

This wicket-keeper batsman needs no introduction. He has already taken the tournament by storm with his knock of 78 of 27 deliveries against the Mumbai Indians. Rishabh is definitely a force to reckon with but on occasions, he fails to find the middle of the bat. He will look to improve his temperament through the tournament and make a strong case for himself in the 2019 World Cup.

He is a good Test level batsman but his skills in the shortest format aren’t proven yet. Hanuma was given his maiden game of the tournament in the previous encounter. Given he has already made his Test debut for India at the Test level, Hanuma might be given a long run in the tournament.

Chris Morris

The South African all-rounder made his first appearance this season during the last game against the Kolkata Knight Riders. He bowled well but he should have been used well with the bat. Morris is a sensational hitter of the ball but DC decided to send Harshal Patel ahead of him which was a baffling decision. He is an important player and should look to make an impact tomorrow.

Harshal Patel

The medium pacer played his first game in the previous encounter and immediately made an impression. He bowled the slower deliveries to perfection which helped him bag the wicket of Robin Uthappa. Harshal also bagged the prized wicket of Nitish Rana who had been in exceptional form coming into that match.

Rahul Tewatia

He missed the previous game but I will bring him back for tomorrow’s clash against Punjab at the expense of Amit Mishra. There is no doubt about the fact that Mishra is an experienced and skilful bowler. However, he hasn’t been at his best in the recent past and should be replaced by Tewatia. He is also a wrist spinner and will look to make an impact.

Kagiso Rabada

The South African speedster proved to be the difference between the two teams yesterday as DC won a nail-biting thriller against the KKR via a super over. Rabada bowled an exceptional delivery to send back Andre Russell in the Super over. It made the difference and helped Delhi clinch victory from a precarious situation.

Sandeep Lamichhane

The Nepalese leg-spinner is the only player from his country to play in the IPL. Lamichane is a good option to have for any captain and he made a difference for them in the matches he has played in the tournament so far.
