Kings XI Punjab will lock horns with Delhi Capitals in the 13th match of the season. Both teams are coming into this match after winning their previous matches. Consequently, both of them will like to continue their good show going in the tournament. Sportzwiki brings you the latest Pitch Report.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals had almost messed up their previous match against Kolkata Knight Riders. They were in the shoo-in position but gave away the advantage in their run chase.
On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab had also won their previous match against Mumbai Indians convincingly by eight wickets. Meanwhile, the Mohali pitch is known to extract bounce in the surface.
Former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop reckons the pitch will assist the pacers as there is grass on the pitch. Bishop believes Chris Gayle and Kagiso Rabada will play a key role for Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals respectively. But there is no Chris Gayle in the final XI of the side.
“The pitch has been a good one. The sprinkling of live grass, which will assist some pace. There is a disparity in the boundary sizes – and that’ll work in the favour
of Chris Gayle. They’ve got to bowl short at him. The Capitals have Rabada, one of the quickest – they have to make Gayle hit Rabada into the bigger side and into the wind. A mix of the short one and the yorker. Don’t let Gayle stay there for 15-16 overs,” Ian Bishop said while talking in the Pitch Report.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals has made one change into their playing XI as Avesh Khan has come in place of Amit Mishra. The Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab have both won two matches and have lost one match in the ongoing season.
Subsequently, both these teams will like to continue their good show going in the season. Shreyas Iyer has won the toss and the Delhi captain has decided to bowl first in the 13th match of the season.
