Royal Challengers Bangalore continued their horrendous run of form in Vivo IPL 12 as they lost their 4th straight match against the Rajasthan Royals yesterday after yet another below-par performance. They put up a competitive total of 158 on the board in their allotted 20 overs which was far from enough. It was a great knock by Parthiv Patel to keep RCB in the match. The southpaw has been the only player from RCB who has looked in good touch in the tournament so far.
The middle order was yet again bamboozled by the opposition bowlers. Marcus Stoinis’s inclusion in the Playing XI proved to be a good change for the Bangalore team. Yuzvendra Chahal was the only bowler to make a mark for Bangalore. Despite their individual brilliance, Bangalore lost yet another encounter. For the 4th time in succession, Virat Kohli had no answer in the post-match presentation.
Royal Challengers look to win their first match of the tournament
Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, has looked in good form and lost their last match against the Delhi Capitals in the Super Over. Andre Russell has been the main difference for the two-time champions as he has smashed all the opposition bowlers all around the park.
He has gone hammers and tongs from the very first ball. He scored 48 of 17 deliveries in the 1st match and followed it up with 49 of 18 deliveries in the next match. Against the Delhi Capitals, Russell scored 63 of 28 deliveries which provided the late impetus to Kolkata.
He is by far the most important player for Kolkata Knight Riders and arguably the most important player in the tournament. The bowling department needs to play to their potential and come back stronger in the match against Bangalore. KKR will back themselves to beat RCB but the Virat Kohli led franchise will be hoping for their first victory.
Bangalore has some special players in their ranks but has failed to make an impression in the tournament so far. Dinesh Karthik, on the other hand, will look to get his franchise back on winning track. He is one of the most important batters for KKR and will to make a mark in tomorrow’s clash.

Head to Head:
Matches Played: 23, Kolkata Knight Riders-14, Royal Challengers Bangalore- 9
Chinnaswamy Stadium is always a high scoring venue and even teams have won chasing targets of over 200. Despite the pitch being a high scoring one it should have something for the spinners. As the match will be played at night dew might play a factor.
Garden City is always a place where cricketers love playing as conditions are always soothing for cricket. Temperature is expected to remain around 20-23 degrees. There are slight chances of rain which might go onto affect the course of the match.
Kolkata Knight Riders will start as favourites only due to the fact that Bangalore has failed to win a single match of the tournament so far. However, I will back them to win the match against Kolkata Knight Riders day after tomorrow. Hence my prediction is with Royal Challengers Bangalore.
