Man of the Match:
There shouldn’t be any doubt on this. The batting giant in the form of Andre Russell has played a significant role by pummeling visitors’ bowlers all-around the park.
Floodlights malfunctioned:
In such a rare case, things seemed to have been brought to the standstill. During the 16th over of Knight Riders’ innings, one of the towers’ bulbs went defunct which forced the officials to stop the game.
The game was equally poised as hosts post 118 for three in 15.2 overs when play was interrupted due to the dimly-lit tower.
What it did has broken down the rhythm of a well-set batsman Nitish Rana.
In the same over and on the very first ball of the interruption leg-spinner Rashid Khan has trapped Rana in front of the wickets.
Rana, who looked solid with the bat made 68 off 47 deliveries. He attributed his innings with eight fours and three sixes to his name.
IPL 2019: KKR’s 2nd Innings:
In response, while playing at home Knight Riders had a dismal start while eyeing to chase down the total of 182 in the exciting T20 clash. Chris Lynn was the first man to return to the pavilion on scoring 11-ball seven. He was dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan when Rashid Khan completed a skier inside a circle.
However, Robin Uthappa alongside Nitesh Rana has knitted crucial partnership off 58-ball 80. Uthappa looked positive while middling the ball well
When KKR was 87 for one, the hosts lost their second wicket in the 12th over on the bowling of Siddarth Kaul. With a fuller length delivery, he has knocked out the off stump of Uthappa after scoring 35 off 27 balls. While scoring at the strike-rate of 129.62, Uthappa has smashed three boundaries and a six.
Skipper and wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik could leave much impact. He was caught by Hyderabad’s interim skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the bowling of Sandeep Sharma. Karthik consumed four deliveries to score a couple.
Here’s the scorecard of KKR:
