Both Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to get their IPL 12 campaign back on track when the two franchises meet in the 22nd match of the competition. Kings XI Punjab lost their previous clash against the Chennai Super Kings despite impressive half-centuries form KL Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan. However, it was the MS Dhoni blitz towards the end which proved to be the game changer for the three-time champions.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, failed to chase down 137 and was skittled out for just 96 runs against the Mumbai Indians. Before that match, Sunrisers Hyderabad got exceptional starts from their openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. However, against the Mumbai Indians, the loss of Bairstow and Warner proved to be the game changer for Mumbai Indians.
Alzarri Joseph picked up the best ever figures in IPL history as Hyderabad middle order fell like a pack of cards. They will definitely look to turn their performance around when they meet the Kings XI Punjab. The Ravichandran Ashwin led side has got off to a good start in the tournament but the defeat against CSK will definitely push them to a corner.
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab will look to get their campaign back on track
The form of skipper Ravichandran Ashwin will keep Kings XI Punjab in good stead as they progress further in the tournament. He bagged 3 crucial wickets in the last match against his previous franchise Chennai Super Kings and was instrumental in restricting CSK to 16 in their allotted 20 overs. Sam Curran’s form will also keep Punjab excited.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has a terrific bowling line-up but they haven’t been able to leave up to the potential in the tournament so far. Stand in skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar has conceded tons of runs in the tournament so far and hasn’t looked anywhere close to his best. Their bowling department did a terrific job in the match against the Mumbai Indians. However, they leaked runs to Kieron Pollard in the last few overs which propelled MI to a competitive score of 136.
Kane Williamson might not be fit for the next game and in all expectations, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will again the franchise in his absence. He will definitely look to improve his individual performance and captaincy as Hyderabad look to win their 4th game of the tournament.

It is expected to be an even pitch which will have something on offer for both the fast and the spin bowlers. Good spinners have always made good advantage of the PCA Stadium in Mohali. However, batsmen too have a good record in this stadium. After taking time, batsmen has the opportunity to go after the big shots. Only 4 teams have won the last 15 matches batting 2nd here which goes onto prove that dew won’t be a factor in Mohali.
The temperature is expected to go down rapidly in the evening when the match is slated to start. Temperature is expected to hover around 24 degrees. No rain has been forecasted for tomorrow’s match in Punjab.
Both teams will look to get their campaign back on track tomorrow. Hyderabad was skittled out for just 96 which surely proves that they have serious middle order woes. Punjab, on the other hand, will look to press on the accelerator at the time. At this point time, I will go with Kings XI Punjab to win tomorrow’s game.
