In the ongoing 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have had contrasting opportunities. Both teams take on each other at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on April 11 (Thursday). While Chennai will hope to strengthen their hold in the top of the points table, Rajasthan will look to return to winning ways.
Chennai Super Kings will be high on confidence after beating Kolkata Knight Riders. They have played good cricket so far in the tournament and will hope to carry the same momentum. Moreover, the inclusion of Faf du Plessis at the top has really helped the side as the openers are putting in good starts now. The bowlers have also done an impeccable job with Harbhajan Singh being the most impressive. Deepak Chahar and Imran Tahir have also been among the wickets which is a massive plus point for the defending champions.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals needs to come out as a team and put their best feet forward to topple the top-ranked team. Meanwhile, Sanju Samson has recovered from injury and will be available for the game. He has been in good stead and will look to continue his good form. Also, the likes of Steven Smith and Ben Stokes should start contributing to the teams cause if they want to be in the reckoning for the playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni has won the toss and elected to bat first after winning the toss against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Here is what the captains said,
We’ll bowl first. The wicket remains good over here. It’s tough to defend here and the outfield is very fast. There are plenty of areas to improve. I feel fielding is important, the awareness needs to be there. Batting and bowling is something we have done well. Harbhajan and Scott miss out. Santner and Shardul come in.
We were looking to bowl first as well. This looks a very different wicket than the one we played against KKR. Not really sure about the dew, we need to play good cricket and win those crunch moments. Sanju Samson is fit. Riyan Parag and Unadkat are also in.
