Mumbai Indians (MI) banked on Quinton de Kock’s brilliant knock to post a good total on the scoreboard against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It will be a tough ask for Rajasthan considering their recent form with the bat.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to field first. Rajasthan made two changes to their side. Ben Stokes is suffering from an injury, and Riyan Prayag has been dropped. K Gowtham and Liam Livingstone – who is making his debut in the Indian Premier have come in the playing XI. On the other hand, only one change for Mumbai Indians – Rohit Sharma comes in for Siddhesh Lad.

Putting to bat first, Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock got their team off to a brilliant start. The Rajasthan Royals bowlers found it tough to pitch the deliveries as the Mumbai Indians batters dispatched it to the boundaries. The home side notched up 57 runs in the powerplays. They hit everything at disposal as they marched towards the 100-run mark. However, Jofra Archer struck in the 11th over of the game to provide the first breakthrough. He dismissed Rohit Sharma three short of his half-century to have Mumbai Indians for 96 for one.
However, the dismissal of Rohit Sharma opened the doors, and Dhawal Kulkarni cleaned up Suryakumar Yadav. Since then, Rajasthan Royals made a solid comeback to contain the Mumbai Indians batsmen. But a late flourish from Quinton de Kock helped them go past the 150-run mark. Although de Kock got out on 81 runs, Hardik Pandya little cameo helped Mumbai Indians post 187 runs which will be a daunting task for Rajasthan Royals.

In any other era of Indian cricket, Dhawal Kulkarni would have been a prize catch. Takes 1st class wickets consistently, takes high-profile wickets in the IPL & has all the attributes of a “third seamer” Ah cricket is so much about right time right era @cricbuzz #ipl2019 #MIvRR
