Mumbai Indians (MI) played some good cricket to put a brake on Delhi Capitals (DC) winning run as they beat the host by 40 runs at the Feroz Shah Kotla. With this emphatic win, Mumbai Indians now find themselves in the second spot after Chennai Super Kings.
In pursuit, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw got Mumbai Indians off to a decent start. Although Shaw was defensive, Dhawan threw hands at anything outside off to bring down the asking rate. They added 49 runs for the first wicket Rahul Chahar dismantled the timber of Dhawan (35). Chahar who has benched Mayank Markande has been bowling tremendously well and today was no different. The wicket of Dhawan gave him more confidence as he added two more to his tally.

He dismissed Prithvi Shaw and skipper Shreyas Iyer while Krunal Pandya got the better of Colin Munro to put Mumbai Indians ahead in the game. Jasprit Bumrah soon joined the party to dismiss Rishabh Pant who looked completely out of his socks today. Lasith Malinga also joined the party as he along with Bumrah kept the tail at check to hand Mumbai a clinical victory.
Pandya powers Mumbai to 168
Previously, Pandya brothers powered Mumbai Indians to post 168 runs at the end of 20 overs against Delhi Capitals. They added 54 runs in no time to finish on a high with powerful hitting from Hardik Pandya and good support from Krunal Pandya. Previously, Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock got Mumbai Indians off to a flying start. They added 57 runs in the powerplays to set the platform for a massive score.

But Amit Mishra got the better of Rohit right after the powerplays to draw the first blood. The wicket opened things up for the Delhi Capitals as they restricted the free flow of runs. Besides, they also picked wickets at regular intervals to have Mumbai Indians at 104 for four at 15.1 overs. Since then, the Pandya launched a carnage to take the score to 150+ and give their bowlers enough runs to bowl at.
This win will be a massive confidence-booster for the Mumbai Indians as the tournament nears its business end.

Yes, the wicket helped him but Rahul Chahar was mighty impressive. As he has been throughout the IPL

Terrific win for Mumbai Indians. Kudos to Pandya Brothers Krunal and Hardik. Well played. Thank you Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw for some entertainment for Delhi Capitals fans. Disappointed by Delhi Capitals middle order— Parveen (@ParveenMurad) April 18, 2019
Rahul Chahar Bowled beautifully. Delhi Capitals pinnacle system batsman goes to the stand. #DCvMI #GameBanayegaName #MyGameFace

Why Pant was Not Selected., Bumrah Justified.

So #MI read it right. Was a good toss to win and the Kotla has again produced a track that the home team wouldn't enjoy.

These MI guys neither feature among the top run getters nor among the top wicket takers. Everybody just chips in at the right time. Collective team effort ? #DCvMI

I think now @RishabPant777 will play more maturely there no doubt he is a good player . The only reason why he is not selected for #WorldCup2019 is his consistency .. still best to come all the very best ??#indianteam #DCvMI @BCCI @ICC @cricketworldcup

What's wrong with Dhawan? He was looking in great touch till he played that unconventional shot to get himself out. This is not the first time he has did that in this IPL.#DCvMI #SelectDugout
