Sunrisers Hyderabad has finally managed to get their IPL 12 campaign back on track after registering back-to-back victories against the Chennai Super Kings and the Kolkata Knight Riders. They are all set to lock horns against the Chennai Super Kings again in the return leg tomorrow and the victory in the previous match will surely give them the confidence to upstage Chennai again.
Unfortunately, at the last minute, Williamson had flown home following the demise of his grandmother. This means Bhuvneshwar Kumar will again lead the SRH.
The yellow brigade, on the other hand, has lost two back to back matches. The middle order has been found out wanting on quite a few occasions and it has been skipper MS Dhoni who has bailed them out of trouble on numerous occasions. He failed to get CSK over the line yesterday against the RCB by just a solitary run.
Now with the 41st match of the tournament to be played in the next 28 hours, let us have a look at SRH’s predicted Playing XI.
The southpaw has been in prime form and is currently the orange cap holder. He has looked in great touch and has got SRH off to flying start on most occasions. The former skipper has timed the ball to perfection and has looked a class apart. The southpaw will look to continue his dream run in the tournament and get his side off to another great start.
It will be the final game for Bairstow of the season as he will be flying back to England in order to prepare for the World Cup. He has been a champion batsman for SRH and has along with Warner, he has scored 70% of the runs for SRH in the tournament. He will surely look to make a big impact before he leaves for England.
Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has been impressive so far in the IPL 2019. In his very first game, Nabi claimed four-for – to rattle Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Owing to his impactful approach, he would be keen to perform in the absence of Williamson, who somewhat has left a void.
In four matches, the off-spinner Nabi has claimed seven wickets which included the best figures of four for 11.
The all-rounder who recently bagged a World Cup spot hasn’t been in the best of touches in the tournament so far. He is a brilliant all-round player and that was the reason why Shankar was selected for the World Cup squad. He has bowled well in patches and is also a terrific fielder.
The lower middle order batters have hardly got any chance to bat in the tournament and Deepak Hood is no exception. He looked good against Punjab and scored quickfire 14 of 3 deliveries. He can smash the ball to good effect and will surely look to make a vital contribution if there is a top order collapse.
The swashbuckling all-rounder has been nowhere near his best which has affected the combination of Hyderabad. He is a big match player and for that reason, SRH has been still persisting with. His ordinary fielding in the tournament so far has cost at least 3 catches for SRH in the tourney.
The Afghan leggie who is regarded as the Wonderboy of world cricket will play a vital part for SRH as he does always. Rashid has bowled brilliantly in the tournament and has hardly gone for runs. He is also a three-dimensional player. Not only he is a great bowler, he can also play the big shots to perfection and is a sensational fielder.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (C)
The fast bowler has improved as the tournament has progressed. In the previous match, Bhuvi bowled brilliantly and troubled the opposition batters quite consistently but failed to bag a wicket. He is a top-class bowler and a big performance should be just around the corner. Bhuvi also has the ability to contribute some runs in the lower order.
The left-arm spinner has bowled well in domestic cricket in the recent past but hasn’t managed to grab his opportunities in the cash-rich league. He is a useful bowler who can consistently trouble the opposition batters. Nadeem has looked good in the couple of matches he has played so far. However, he went for a few runs in the previous clash.
The left-arm seamer has looked in great rhythm ever since returning to the SRH playing XI. He has bowled his heart out and has already bagged 5 wickets in the tournament. Khaleel will definitely look to make an impact tomorrow in an all-important clash against the yellow brigade.
The medium pacer has looked good in patches but has failed to deliver consistently. His knuckle balls have caused trouble to the opposition batters. Sandeep Sharma will look to put up an impressive show in order to retain his place in the side for the business end of the tournament.
