IPL 2019, Match 42: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kings XI Punjab- Watch: AB de Villiers One-Handed Shot Goes Out of the Ground

Mr 360 AB de Villiers yet again proved why he is regarded one of the greatest batsmen of all time after he played a sensational knock for the Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Kings XI Punjab in the 42nd match of Vivo IPL 12. It was a special knock which took RCB to a humungous score of 202 in their allotted 20 overs.

His knock of 82 came in just 44 deliveries and was studded with 3 fours and 7 sixes. During his exceptional knock, AB de Villiers also played a one-handed flick of Mohammad Shami which landed in the roof of the stadium. It was a full toss by Mohammad Shami which went sailing over the boundary ropes.

Earlier in the day it was Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin who won the toss and put the hosts in. Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli got the hosts off to a good start. However, Kohli was dismissed by Shami after making 13. AB de Villiers joined Parthiv in the middle. RCB stuttered in the middle overs which brought their run rate down.

The final punch was provided by AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis as the duo stitched together a sensational unbeaten stand of 121 runs in a shade over 10 overs. There was no stopping AB de Villiers who kept smashing the KXIP bowlers all around the park. In the penultimate over bowled by Mohammed Shami, de Villiers smashed 3 consecutive sixes to take RCB over the 170 mark.

Eventually in the final over it was Marcus Stoinis who used the long handle to good effect and took RCB to a score of 202 in their allotted 20 overs. The power hitter smashed 27 runs of the final over of Hardus Viljoen which included a couple of fours and 3 sixes. Chasing the competitive target, KXIP has gone off to a great start. When the article was written Punjab’s score was 105/3 in 10.1 overs with Nicholas Pooran and David Miller at the crease.
