Mar 28, 2019 at 6:07 PM
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) failed to start their 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign with a win. As a result, both the sides will be desperate to return to winning ways when they clash against each other at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 28 (Thursday).
Royal Challengers had the worst to the campaign as they were all out for 70 runs in the tournament opener against the Chennai Super Kings. They need to ponder over their playing XI and chalk out a strategy as they gear up for the second game. The team have always had good players who can win matches single-handedly but has struggled to strike the right combinations. Virat Kohli & Co need to come out all guns blazing if they want to keep their chances going for their maiden IPL Trophy.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have received a massive boost ahead of the second game. Veteran fast bowler Lasith Malinga will join them soon after Cricket Sri Lanka changed their mind and allowed Malinga to take part in IPL. Meanwhile, Mumbai is still in doubts over Jasprit Bumrah’s further participation in the league after he suffered an injury during the first game. With Bumrah in doubt and Adam Milne ruled out, Malinga’s availability will come as a sigh of relief.
The Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians need to come out stronger as a team and put their best foot forward to clinch the game. Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, who failed to get going in the first going will be keen to spoil Mumbai’s party on Thursday.
Date and Venue: 28 March (Thursday) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
