Mar 30, 2019 at 12:53 AM
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batsman David Warner has already set the stage fire in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). He has scored two back to back half-centuries as he looks to return to international cricket. Today he was of a different class smashing everything out of the part. It was his knock that set the tone for Hyderabad in the run chase.
Following his 85 in the first match – went in vain, David Warner backed it up with a 37-ball 69 runs knock. He along with Jonny Bairstow added 110 runs within ten overs before Vijay Shankar led his onslaught. Yusuf Pathan and Rashid Khan finished it off after Sanju Samson’s brilliant century helped the Royals post 198 runs. Speaking after the game, David Warner admitted that local fans inspire him to play good cricket. The Australian cricketer also praised Sanju Samson for an outstanding knock. He played shots all round the park, and it was a knock of pure class.
“One thing that inspires me is the local fans, they are amazing. We try and put on a good show. We didn’t get off to a good start, serious innings from Sanju and full credit to him. He came out and played really well. He allowed himself time and the wicket got better,” Warner said.

Speaking further, David Warner added that he didn’t feel it was a 200-run deck. But he admitted that they know this ground and its dimension very well. Warner also pointed out that there was no breeze out there and they had to be calculative with their batting. Also, the Aussie cricketer revealed that he likes to play in front of this crowd and they are amazing.
The southpaw also added he has been partnering well with Jonny Bairstow. Although the England wicket-keeper is taking some time to get off blokes; however, they are forging a good opening pair and will be a threat to the other teams.
“We know this ground pretty well. We know the dimensions well. There has been a breeze from one side for the last two days, but tonight it wasn’t there. You have to be calculative with your batting. I enjoy playing in front of this crowd. They are fantastic,” he added.
Sunrisers Hyderabad next faces Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 31 (Sunday) at home. David Warner said that they need to assess the wicket because it is a day match.
“It is a day game. We have to assess the wicket. I think we are playing on the other one, so we have to come and assess it,” Warner concluded.
