Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsman Sanju Samson scored a magnificent century against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium to power his side post 198 runs at the end of the first innings. Following his spectacular knock, Samson said that this is just the start of the tournament and he needs to deliver for his in the upcoming games.
Samson powers Royals to 198
Rajasthan Royals skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson powered their side to a massive total at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. However, the Royals lost Jos Buttler in the fourth over after Rashid Khan bowled him behind his stumps. Reeling at 15 for one, Rahane and Samson steered their side to a good total. They added 119 runs for the second wicket to take their team to a stable position. Samson and Rahane both started slowly mainly depending on ones and two’s.

Meanwhile, they started to found the boundaries after a quite powerplay. Samson was the first to take the attack while Ajinkya Rahane got into the groove soon and has managed to get his strike-rate up. Both batsmen have raced along after the powerplay. Ajinkya Rahane gets his 27th IPL fifty while Sanju Samson gets his 11th. Shahbaz Nadeem, against the run of play, got the wicket of Rahane as he chipped it to long on at the score of 70.
Samson continued his onslaught and smacked Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 24 runs in a single over. He didn’t spare anybody and in the process brought his century – the first of the season and his second in IPL. His century powered Rajasthan Royals to put 198 runs on the board at the end of 20 overs.

This is just the beginning
Following an outstanding knock, Sanju Samson pointed out that this is just the start of the tournament. He also spoke of wisdom saying he needs to stay grounded and perform for his side. He also noted that they need to bowl well to win the game as the wicket has improved from the start.

Here is what Samson said,
Feels good to score an IPL hundred, but this is just the start of the tournament and I got to stay grounded and do what the team wants. The pitch was a bit slow to start with, but with time it got easy. I think we have set a good target with our bowling line-up. But cricket is a funny game, anything can happen.
