IPL 2019: Mumbai Police Denies Reports Of A Possible Terror Attack At Wankhede Stadium
The game at Wankhede Stadium is always an electrifying clash with crowd attending the stadiums in a huge number. The upcoming encounter against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday is going to be a special clash, as a lot of children will attend the event. In between, rumours of a possible threat is being circulated on media. However, the Mumbai Police rubbishes the reports.
Mumbai Police PRO, DCP Manjunath Shenge clarified that these were nothing but rumours. He went on to add that there is no such news from the intelligence or from any other specific department regarding the attack. Manjunath also stressed that Mumbai got the best service officers in their ranks.
Do not believe in rumours – Mumbai Police
The recent rumours that were spread in the media quoted that there is a possible terror threat on the bus of the International players ahead of their game at Wankhede Stadium. However, the Mumbai Police rubbished all the reports saying that they are fake.
In a statement, Mumbai police said, “Since yesterday, there is fake news being circulated about a threat at Wankhede stadium. There is no specific input or intelligence about a threat to IPL matches at Wankhede. Mumbai Police has been and will always take the highest possible security measures to keep Mumbai Safe. Please do not buy this fake news and do not believe in rumours, Mumbai Police is always alert!”

Currently, Mumbai Indians are on a song in the tournament. They won their last three games by clinching thrillers against Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab.
As far as Rajasthan’s form goes, it’s two losses in a row now. After being hammered by the Knight Riders, they then lost out to CSK with the final ball of the game on Thursday. It was Ben Stokes, who was the culprit for Rajasthan Royals. He gave away 18 runs off his final 6 balls.
So far, both teams are being involved in neck-to-neck games irrespective of the result. However, without any ray of a doubt, Mumbai Indians will head into the game as favourites to win the game. In between, Rajasthan would like to give their everything in the game.
