We have seen a flashy Parthiv Patel knocking runs at a quick pace for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League 2019. But, on the other side of a coin, there was a son in him, who is pretty much worried about his father, who is suffering from a brain haemorrhage and battling it in ICU.

With his father hospitalised in his hometown Ahmedabad after a brain haemorrhage, the Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-opener says he dreads those moments when he is unlocking his mobile’s keypad.

Parthiv Patel revealed that he fears to answer any call from the home, as he might listen to any bad news from the home. It has been the case for him from the past couple of months.

I have to take some important decisions – Parthiv Patel

Further, he went on to add saying that he is switching himself from personal life and professional life. Parthiv quoted that nothing comes in his mind when he is on the field but when he is off the field, he couldn’t take his thoughts away from his father.

“When I am playing, nothing crosses my mind, but once a game is over, my heart is at home. The day begins by asking about my father’s progress, keeping in touch with doctors, sometimes I have to take some important decisions. My wife and mother are at home but when it comes to taking any final decision, my approval is sought. The initial phase was critical – should we switch off the ventilator for a few days, or how much oxygen should be given. Such decisions are very tough to take,” he explained.

He also explained the day when his father suddenly fell down with the attack. With no mobile phones are allowed inside the ground, he is pretty much worried to unlock his mobile after the completion of the match.

“I remember the day he suddenly fell down. The next 12 days, I was there in ICU, I didn’t even go home for 10 days. The Mushtaq Ali tournament was happening then and I missed a lot of games. We don’t have mobile phones when we are playing. Once I’m involved in the match, any thought of home doesn’t cross my mind but once the game is over and I’m back in the dressing room, I am constantly thinking about my father,” Patel said.

However, currently, Parthiv Patel is undergoing tough times in his life. Hopefully, the southpaw would come over it as quickly as possible. He also revealed that Ashish Nehra is helping him to ease out his burden.
