Young sensation Rishabh Pant who is definitely one of the finest young talents available in the country and just at the age of 21 he has already made a reputation for himself across the global circuit. Pant who is a powerful striker of the ball stated that he is just 21 years old and will surely mature as a player as he gains more experience as a player. He gave his opinion referring to the constant criticism across the circles for his temperament.

The southpaw started of his 2019 IPL campaign with a sensational knock of 78 of 27 deliveries against the Mumbai Indians which took the tournament by storm. Despite a sensational start to his IPL 2019 stint, Pant failed to make his start count as he managed to cross 30 runs only once in the next 12 innings.

Rishabh Pant also struck a match-winning knock against the Rajasthan Royals as he stroked his way to a 36 balls 78 and followed it up with a knock of 53 of 38 deliveries. “I take any criticism positively. Finishing matches is important. I will learn to do it consistently. You only learn from your experiences and mistakes. Things don’t change overnight. I am just 21. It’s difficult to think like a 30-year-old man. In due course, my mind will be stronger and there will be a lot of maturities. You need to give it time,” Rishabh Pant was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

The 21-year-old suffered a setback when he wasn’t included in the 15 member World Cup squad. However, he has been named as a standby option and might get a look in if Kedar Jadhav fails to recover in time after sustaining a shoulder injury during CSK’s last group game against the Kings XI Punjab. Chief Selector MSK Prasad clarified that it was due to the better wicket-keeping skills of Dinesh Karthik that he was preferred ahead of Pant.

“It is a setback when you are not selected. I am used to it. But a professional should know how to deal with it. Things will not always be the way you want them to be. When things don’t go your way, you need to find a way to keep yourself positive. The important thing is to know how you can move on,” he explained.

“Whatever you learn in your childhood helps you a lot. I had to travel a lot to play and met a lot of people. I didn’t get my due easily. There have been certain things for which I was made to push that bit extra. Those things have made me mentally strong,” added Rishabh Pant.

There were several critics and former cricketers who came hard at the selectors after selecting Rishabh Pant for the Test series against England and Australia last year. However, he surprised one and all by smashing a century each in both the series. The southpaw further added that he has put in a lot of har work which has helped him perform well at the highest level.

“Natural talent sounds nice. But I don’t have enough knowledge about what natural talent is and how it can be linked to hard work. I know that if I had to play top-level cricket then it wouldn’t come without hard work. I was always told to focus on myself, not think ill of others,” he said.IPL
