Of late, the Indian Premier League 2019 is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. On every other day, something or the other negative stuff is going around to highlight the headlines in the cricketing world. The latest to enter that stuff is Rohit Sharma, who lost his cool after being dismissed.
The skipper of the Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma was adjudged Leg Before Wicket when Harry Gurney got better off him. The optimistic Rohit Sharma went for the DRS, as he felt that the ball is going over the stumps.
Rohit Sharma fined 15% of his match fees:
The replays suggested that the ball was just clipping the leg stump, which would have been not out if umpire adjudged it in the favour of Rohit. The disappointed Sharma kicked the stumps to show his anger on the umpire, thus, being eligible to get under the hammer of the code of conduct.
He was fined 15 per cent of his match fee after a breach of the Code Of Conduct in their game against Kolkata Knight Riders. Rohit was charged under Level 1 of 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct.
Coming to the match, it was Kolkata Knight Riders, who won the game against Mumbai Indians in a high-scoring thriller. Andre Russell showed his muscle after the stunning partnership between Chris Lynn and Shubman Gill. They put on a massive tally on the board, which is the highest for the ongoing season of the tournament.
In reply to the chase, Mumbai Indians failed to get the opening Start, which kept the pressure on the middle-order department. Hardik Pandya showed his power-hitting prowess in the middle to carry the burden of Mumbai Indians on his shoulders. However, the lack of support from the other end dented his chances.
In the next fixture, Mumbai Indians will host Sunrisers Hyderabad. And also, they will host Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium on May 5th. Though they are through to playoffs unofficially, they got a good chance to finish in the top two.
