It was an exceptional display of batsmanship by Sunrisers Hyderabad openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow as they shared a stand of 185 runs in just 16.2 overs and derailed the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowling line-up. Jonny Bairstow, in particular, was at his ominous best and smashed the RCB bowlers all around the stadium.
Following their outstanding partnership, legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took to his Twitter handle and congratulated them for a memorable partnership. The Master also lauded them for running hard between the wickets and playing some extraordinary shots.

“Watching @jbairstow21 & @davidwarner31 bat. Must say everything about their partnership has been extraordinary. Some serious shots and hard running between the wickets in this heat. Truly remarkable,” Tendulkar wrote.

Bairstow’s batting was simply phenomenal as he took the RCB bowlers to the cleaners. David Warner complemented him wonderfully well and knew exactly what he needed to do out in the middle. They ran 10 doubles between them in 42 degrees which are a commendable job, to say the least. Jonny Bairstow gave special treatment to the spin trip of Yuzvendra Chahal, Moeen Ali and the debutant Prays Ray Burman.
The youngest ever to play in IPL, Burman was taken to the cleaners by the duo as he ended up conceding 56 runs in his 4 overs spell. Yuzvendra Chahal did manage to get the wicket of Bairstow in the 17th over but by then he had already done the damage. Bairstow’s knock of 114 came in just 56 deliveries which were studded with 12 fours and 7 sixes.

David Warner carried on from where Bairstow left and Vijay Shankar also started off his innings with a six. The southpaw went onto complete his century and leapt in the air in delight. It was a tough last year for Warner and he has come back very strongly this time around. Eventually, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a daunting score of 231 in their allotted 20 overs.
