Prithvi Shaw is definitely going to be one of the players to watch out for in the soon-to-start season of the Indian Premier League. Shaw is likely to partner Shikhar Dhawan at the top of the order right from the first game for Delhi Capitals this season. Last year, Shaw could not break into the playing eleven for the first five games as Gautam Gambhir and Jason Roy were preferred.

However, once the team-management gave him the chance, there was no looking back. Shaw, who was bought for INR 1.2 crore in the 2018 auctions, finished the season with 245 runs including two fifties. His efforts, however, did not make much of a difference as the Capitals once again went on to finish the season with the wooden spoon.

Shaw recently returned to action in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy after spending nearly three months on the sidelines due to an ankle injury he had sustained on the tour of Australia. He had a slow start in the competition, scoring 10, 8 and 0. But he played a few impressive knock like the 71-run knock against Goa to get back to form.

And ahead of the new season for the Delhi Capitals. Shaw has showed he is all geared up for the challenge. The youngster took to Twitter to post a picture of himself while comparing himself with a lion. He posted a famous dialogue from Bollywood movie ‘Sanju’ while writing:

“SHER hai tu SHER Roarrrrrrrrrrrrr💯”

Prithvi Shaw recently dismissed speculations that indiscipline forced his premature return from the Australia tour and insisted that it was only because of slow recovery from an ankle injury.

Prithvi had sustained the injury while fielding in a practice game. Initially, it was said that he would be available from the third Test onwards.

“These are rumours, so I will better let it go,” Shaw told the media last week.

“No one told me anything about not working hard. I wanted to play but got injured. I thought I could play the third Test (in Melbourne) but then progress of recovery was slow,” said the Mumbai opener, who hit a hundred on his Test debut.

Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, will open their campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 24.
