Ahead of the twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League, Sunrisers Hyderabad have received a massive boost. Their skipper Kane Williamson looks set to play right from the start of the competition. There were huge doubts over Williamson’s participation in the early part of the competition after he suffered a shoulder injury during the second Test against Bangladesh earlier this month.

Williamson had to head to a hospital after suffering the injury during the game. He had injured his left shoulder while diving in the field during Bangladesh’s first innings. He, however, came out to bat but twice had to call out the physio and didn’t look comfortable playing some shots. And as soon as he got out, he rushed to hospital for scans. Later, scans revealed that Williamson has suffered a grade one tear to his left pectoral minor muscle.

But Williamson has now recovered in time to play for the franchise right from the start. Williamson was their standout performer last season both as a batsman and a captain. He finished the tournament as the top run-scorer and led the side to the final in absence of former skipper David Warner.

Sunrisers Hyderabad took to Twitter to confirm that Williamson and his compatriot Martin Guptill will join the team on March 22, a day before the IPL starts.

“We know you’ve been wondering when Kane Williamson & @Martyguptill will join the #RiserCamp! Well we don’t like keeping our #OrangeArmy in the dark. They’ll be joining us on the 22nd after the New Zealand Cricket Awards. So sit tight guys!” tweeted SRH,” wrote Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Warner is also available for the team this season. Warner had missed the last season in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal.  On Wednesday, Bangladesh Cricket Board also gave a no-objection certificate to their allrounder Shakib Al Hasan for the tournament.

The Hyderabad-based franchise will open their campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 24.
