“Playing against a former team – I know the wicket well, I know the players, it was a challenging experience.

“It’s definitely a great feeling to represent a powerhouse of the IPL, Mumbai Indians. It’s a great atmosphere, great dressing room, chill people. It was good to get a win under the belt in an away game, that was really important.”

When asked who is the most relaxed cricketer in the Mumbai Indians, he took the name of Hardik Pandya. “Hardik is a great guy, fun guy. He keeps the dressing room atmosphere light and everyone enjoys his company.

Hardik Pandya is going through a purple patch and himself revealed that he doesn’t think he has ever hit the ball better in his career. Continuing his great form, Hardik Pandya smashed a quickfire 32 of 15 deliveries which were studded with a couple of fours and three sixes. His knock proved to be the difference between the two sides in the end.

It was his partnership with his elder brother Krunal Pandya which took Mumbai Indians to a good total of 168 in their allotted 20 overs in a slow Feroz Shah Kotla track. Meanwhile, Jayant Yadav who played his first match for the Mumbai Indians yesterday said that he has been working closely with the likes of Zaheer Khan, Mahela Jayawardene and Sachin Tendulkar to keep improving on his game.

“I think that having the likes of Zak pa, MJ (Mahela Jayawardene) and Sachin sir, it’s just great. You get to learn a lot from their experiences. They sit and take out time to talk to you during practice, before the match, after the match. So they process is really simplified for us, you just need to go out there and execute.”

After the victory against the Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians has gone to the 2nd position in the points table and are just behind Chennai Super Kings with 6 victories from 9 matches. They will look to seal their 7th victory of the season when they meet the Rajasthan Royals tomorrow afternoon.
