As if the defeats in their first two games of the season was not enough, the Royal Challengers Bangalore were in for another tough in the field on Sunday. Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Jonny Bairstow blew the Royal Challengers away by scoring a stunning century in the ongoing game in Hyderabad.

Playing his maiden IPL season this year, the England star was in such a devastating form that even the in-for David Warner had to play the second fiddle. Bairstow made his intentions clear by smacking his compatriot Moeen Ali for a couple of boundaries in the very first over. From there on, there was no looking back as he continued piling misery on the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers.

At the end of the powerplay, Bairstow had raced away to 32 off 20 deliveries, helping Sunrisers score 59 runs in the first six overs. He reached his maiden IPL fifty in 28 balls by hitting debutant Prayas Barman for a four in the ninth over. In the very following over, he dispatched Colin de Grandhomme for two consecutive boundaries.  Warner and Bairstow then brought up their third consecutive century stand in this season. They also became the first opening pair to achieve this incredible feat.

He reached his century in 51 deliveries  with the help of 12 fours and 5 sixes. Yuzvendra Chahal finally gave the Royal Challengers the first breakthrough by dismissing Bairstow for 114.
