All.the excitement of Virat Kohli fans went in vain as the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore walked back for a cheap score at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh ruled the roost with a stunning piece of bowling display.
It was in the 4th over of the game when Virat Kohli was under the pump with 6 runs off 11 balls. Then, he got the juicy half-tracker from Harbhajan Singh. However, Kohli couldn’t make the most of it, as he picked Jadeja to the perfection in the mid-wicket.
Virat Kohli scored 6 runs off 12 balls:
The wicket silenced half of the crowd while CSK fans roared with double energy. Virat Kohli’s wicket opened the gates for a disaster, as the remaining batsmen walked back for cheap scores to their names.
Getting into the details of the first innings, initially, it was Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who won the toss and chose to bat first. The pitch looked pretty supportive to the spinners, which made MS Dhoni hand new ball to Harbhajan Singh Dhoni alongside Deepak Chahar.
Justifying the decision of MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh delivered goods for the team by removing three big fishes of Bangalore. Adding vows, Shimron Hetmyer, who was expected to be the star on a debut walked back by bagging a duck when Suresh Raina displayed his fielding skills.
Following the heroics of Harbhajan Singh, it was Imran Tahir, who made things fall in place for CSK. His brilliant spell saw CSK rattling through the defence of RCB in the middle-order. In between, Ravindra Jadeja also chipped in with a couple of wickets alongside his good fielding.
Parthiv Patel was the only batsman, who looked like having a clear idea of the wicket. However, he never got the right kind of support to take things further. All they managed was 70 runs on the board.
