Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Kedar Jadhav got a good birthday gift as CSK made it two out of two beating Delhi Capitals by six wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Following a convincing victory, Jadhav noted that it is a good feeling to win two back to back games.
Meanwhile, batting first Delhi Capitals managed to post 147 runs on the board. Prithvi Shaw got them off to a good start after failing in the first game. He smacked three boundaries in one over of Shardul Thakur to set the tone; however, got out in an attempt to be over-aggressive. Shikhar Dhawan and skipper Shreyas Iyer stitched an excellent stand for the second wicket but were relatively slow. The pair added 43 runs before Iyer got out which brought Rishabh Pant to the crease.

The young lad began precisely from where he left in the last game against Mumbai Indians. He smacked two boundaries, and one six in 25-runs knock before Dwayne Bravo’s cricketing brilliance got him out. Pant tried to clear the square-leg boundary but holed out deep square-leg failing to get the timing right. The Windies all-rounder added two more to his kitty to finish with three for 33 as Delhi could manage only 147 runs at the halfway stage.
Chennai make it two out of two
Although it looked like an easy chase but the considering the strip it needed a strong effort from the defending champions. Chennai Super Kings got off to a flier courtesy Shane Watson despite losing Ambati Rayudu from the other end. The former Australia cricketer got the better of the Delhi Capitals bowlers to score 73 runs within seven overs. However, Amit Mishra struck back to dismiss Watson for 44 runs. However, this didn’t deter Super Kings from the target as they reached the landmark with two balls to spare. Dwayne Bravo scored the winning runs before Kedar Jadhav, and MS Dhoni took their side to doors of the winning run.
Kedar Jadhav, after an easy win, pointed out that the wicket was on the slower side. Despite admitting that they are happy with two wins, the all-rounder said that they need to stop repeating the mistakes.
“It was a little bit on the slower side, especially when you have a target like this, you have to take it deep. We were in control. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the team over the line. There are no such talks (of him batting higher up), Watson is playing for many years and so are Raina and Ambati. It is a big tournament. We are happy we have won two games. If we give our 100 percent and not repeat our mistakes, then we will be on track,” Kedar Jadhav said.
