Mumbai Indians batsman Yuvraj Singh recalled the World Cup memories when he walked down the stairs of the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Yuvraj, who was going to the training session with Krunal Pandya, said the first thing that comes to his mind is the World Cup final match at this coliseum. The talisman batsman said that this stadium brings back the 2011 World Cup memories.
Yuvraj said that there are some good memories which are probably the best memories of his career. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh was awarded the Player of the tournament award in the 2011 World Cup. The all-rounder was at his best in the ODI showpiece as he had delivered with both bat as well as with the ball.
The southpaw batsman had scored 362 runs at a stunning average of 90.50 with the help of four fifties and one hundred. Yuvraj Singh had also scalped 15 wickets in the quadrennial event. In fact, Yuvraj Singh had also battled cancer during the course of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh hasn’t been in the best of forms in the recent past. Thus, the linchpin batsman will like to turn the tables in the upcoming Indian Premier League. He was bought for his base price of INR 1 crore by the three-times champions Mumbai Indians.
In fact, Yuvraj doesn’t have a great record while playing in the Indian Premier League. The left-hander has thus far scored only 2652 runs in 128 IPL matches at a paltry average of 24.79.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians will begin their IPL campaign against Delhi Capitals on 24th March at Wankhede Stadium. Thus, Yuvraj Singh will like to grab his chance with both hands. The all-rounder has been a big player and he would like to bring his best to the table for the Mumbai Indians.
