IPL 2019: Zaheer Khan Sheds Light On Rohit Sharma’s Availability For RR Clash
After a fine time, Rohit Sharma has missed a game for Mumbai Indians due to the injury concern. He pulled his hamstring during the practice session ahead of the clash against Kings XI Punjab. It allowed Kieron Pollard leading the side, which he ended up bagging two crucial points. Meanwhile, Mumbai’s Director of operations Zaheer Khan hints the return of Sharma.
Initially, it was expected that Rohit Sharma might miss at least 2-6 weeks in the cricketing action. However, thankfully, the reports are wrong, as the skipper of Mumbai Indians is recovering pretty quickly.
Rohit Sharma is very positive right now – Zaheer Khan
As a precautionary measure, they asked Rohit Sharma to stay away from the playing XI in the clash against Kings XI Punjab. However, it seems like he is all set to make a return for the clash against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday night.
Speaking of the skipper’s return, the stylish southpaw Zaheer Khan quoted that the right-handed batsman is pretty positive in his intent and heading to get his practice done. Zaheer Khan is hopeful of Rohit Sharma returning to the playing XI against Rajasthan Royals.
“Rohit Sharma is very positive right now. This is a good sign for us. He’s going to practice. We are pretty confident too.” Mumbai Indians’ Director of Cricket Operations Zaheer Khan said.
Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for Mumbai Indians in the game against Rajasthan Royals. Though Rohit’s return is a positive aspect, so far, he hasn’t scored a single match-winning knock for the team.
As far as the team’s progress in the tournament is concerned, they are on a stellar run. They won their last three games by clinching thrillers against Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab.
They are currently placed third in the points table with four victories in their six games. They also got the positive Net-Run-Rate, which would certainly help their cause in the later part of the tournament.
