Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) have traded their last captain Ravichandran Ashwin to Delhi Capitals (DC). Now, the franchise has a big task to find a captain which can lead the team for the upcoming and further IPL tournaments. To choose the captain of the team, either KXIP will buy a player from the auction or will give the task to a deserving from the retained players.
KXIP have retained 14 players among which the big names are KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Chris Gayle. The Punjab-based franchise were in the sixth position in the final points table of IPL 2019. For the IPL 2020 edition, the team will find a captain who can take them to the playoffs.

3. Chris Gayle
The West Indies player Chris Gayle is the experienced IPL player. He started his career in the cash-rich league from the inaugural edition. He has played for Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, and In 2018, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab.
He has played 24 matches and scored 858 runs for KXIP in the last two editions. The veteran has successfully led the West Indies and can be the option for the new KXIP captain. But he can not be the option for the long term.
