Aakash Chopra, the renowned cricket commentator, has advised Rajasthan Royals to be more clear with their strategy after they faced defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders by 37 runs on Wednesday. According to him, RR is using extra bowlers while also not using them efficiently which is also affecting their batting setup.
Speaking in his YouTube Channel, Aakash Chopra observed that Rajasthan Royals’ top-order batting is massive but as they move down, they don’t have reliable batsman to take the game forward.
“Rajasthan Royals have a good top three in their batting lineup – Buttler, Smith and Samson. The next four are Uthappa, Parag, Tewatia and Tom Curran,” he said.

Chopra said that Rahul Tewatia can not always play the innings like Sharjah against Kings XI Punjab. He pointed out that Robin Uthappa is not in form while Riyan Parag is still an inexperienced IPL player.
“Whatever happened at Sharjah, we praised Tewatia’s innings but there are questions about Uthappa’s form, Riyan Parag’s experience and if Tewatia can do the same thing over and over again,” he added.
“If we see Rahul Tewatia’s previous innings, he was struggling in the first half, he was absolutely incredible in the second half. But can you expect the same thing again and again?”
What Is The Point Of Playing So Many Bowlers? Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra criticized RR’s strategy to come with a heavy bowling line up and moreover, not using them effectively. He cited that Rahul Tewatia had bowled just a solitary over each in the last two matches played by Rajasthan Royals.
“What happens with so many bowlers is that Rahul Tewatia bowled only one over. He bowled one over in the last match as well.”
If you cannot use your resources properly, what is the point of playing so many bowlers? Tewatia even took a wicket in the one over he bowled but was stopped after that.”
As Rajasthan Royals have lost their first match of the tournament against KKR, Aakash Chopra wary that they would have to address their problem early as they move on in the tournament. He advised that they would have to accommodate an additional batsman in their playing XI to lend balance to their team.
“Rajasthan Royals going ahead will have to figure out a way to play one more batsman,” he concluded.
Ben Stokes’s absence in the squad is hurting RR. He maintains the balance in the team with his all-round performance.
