Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra feels the Rajasthan Royals batting order is still weak with their middle order of Robin Uthappa, Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia. They are unbeaten yet and have been stupendous with their batting, winning both the matches scoring and chasing 200 plus successfully runs on the board.

Sanju Samson and skipper Steve Smith have scored big knocks in both the matches and look in quite some form. He is the man of the hour with his incredible form. He scored 74 off 32 balls in the first match against CSK and then 85 runs off 52 balls against KXIP, winning the man of the match trophy in both the occasions.

Rahul Tewatia, Robin Uthappa and Riyan Parag are not the ideal No. 4 to No. 6: Aakash Chopra

The IPL commentator has opined that RR batting still looks slightly weak to him, with a ‘non-existent’ middle order.  He said the upper order looks brilliant with Buttler, Smith and Samson. Chopra also stated that RR might want to play David Miller instead of Tom Curran in Dubai.

“Rajasthan Royals’ batting order is still looking slightly weak to me. Whatever you have done is brilliant, but Buttler along with Smith, Sanju at No.3 but then you are stuck at No.4. So who else you can play, that is the question you need to ask. You may want to play Miller instead of Tom Curran in Dubai because the middle-order otherwise becomes almost non-existent,”Aakash Chopra said on his Youtube Channel

“Rahul Tewatia, Robin Uthappa and Riyan Parag are not the ideal No.4 to No.6. So I feel there is definitely a scope of a change,” he added.

Aakash Chopra feels KKR will win against RR

KKR and RR will clash against each other on September 30th and Aakash Chopra feels KKR will win the match. He also stated that the KKR need not to change their lineup for this clash and Sunil Narine who has not fired up yet with the bat will perform anytime soon.

I am going with Kolkata for this one. KKR went into the last match with 7 bowling options. They won that match rather easily, so don’t fix if it ain’t broken. But do the conditions in Dubai inspire you to play with 7 bowlers. That’s the question they have to ask.” said Aakash Chopra.

“Sunil Narine the opener has not fired till now. So you could consider playing him at No.7 and bring another batsman. But I feel Karthik should not change anything, KKR batting is still strong and Narine is going to fire sooner or later.”

Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders lock horns tonight at the Dubai International stadium.
