Delhi Capitals (DC) premier pacer Ishant Sharma is likely to miss out few more matches after missing the franchise’s opener match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). He sustained a back spasm during the practice session which caused his ouster from the Delhi’s playing XI.
The lanky fast bowler, Ishant Sharma, currently, is recovering from the injury but Delhi Capitals is not keen to rush him back soon because the IPL 2020 has just started.

Speaking to ANI, a member of Delhi Capitals team management said that they would not take risks to bring back Ishant early. As he is a vital cog for the team, they would give him more rest keeping in mind the long season.
“He will ideally need a little time and may miss a game or two. We will not risk Ishant and rush him into the XI so early in the season. The games have only begun and he is a vital cog going into the middle and business end of the tournament,” DC official said.

Ishant Sharma joined Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2019 edition when the franchise for the first time reached the playoffs. He scalped 13 wickets in as many matches at the economy rate of 7.58.
Meanwhile, DC has started their IPL 2020 journey with the victory against Kings XI Punjab. Marcus Stoinis was their star player in the thrilling match. He smashed a quick half-century which helped Delhi to post a fighting total of 157 runs.
The fast bowling allrounder also amazed the opposition with the ball picking two wickets in the last over of the ball to take the game to tie. Eventually, DC chased down three runs target given in super over.
Delhi Capitals, under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, will play their second match of the season against Chennai Super Kings, the three-time IPL winner.
